We analyze commonly used garments from the Cacha community to identify design constants in their icons, we represent the icons on grids and we define the rules for creating new icons based on the constants found.
The result of this process is a mural on the facade of the Guayas Historical Archive with a series of iconographic designs built jointly between artists and artisans, respecting the design constants found and linking them to new discourses.
The design of the icons on the mural symbolically represents exchange, respect, cooperation, the coexistence of diverse and equality. All using elements that talk about interaction intercultural pacific. Using the 4 in relation to the 4 corners of the urban blocks, the 4 principles of sumak kawasay, the 4 regions of Ecuador and the Andean textile design that uses the square as a guiding module.
